An Easy Prayer to meet God and choose Him =)

God, I come to you in Jesus’s Name. I choose to believe in You and that Jesus died for my sins and my brokenness, and that He was raised back to life again on the 3rd day. I know I am a sinner. Jesus, please forgive me and wash me completely clean. Please save me, please heal me. Thank you for your grace and your amazing love for me.

Holy Spirit, I invite you into my heart. Fill me with your beautiful presence and please be my guide daily. Lead me closer to God each day. Amen

« If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. » Romans 10 vv.9-10

Since this is new for you, I would like to share a few very important steps to get to Know who God truly is, and get closer to Him and His heart each day.

Prayer and fellowship with God

Talk to God as you would your closest friend. You don’t need to make it complicated because He is right next to you, longing for you to get close to Him! =) Just talk to Him, wherever you are and whenever you want to. Talk to Him about everything and don’t be afraid to ask Him to help you…

And here is what the Bible says about this:

«Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.» Hebrews 4 v.16

«In Him and through faith in Him we may enter God’s presence with boldness and confidence». Ephesians 3:12

The Bible

Read the Bible. It is described as God’s Word. This is like food to your soul. The Bible is such a jewel and a treasure. Try to read it daily, even if it’s just 2-3 verses, and let them sink deep into your heart. You can start reading the books of Matthieu, Marc, Luke and John (one of my favorite’s😉) and the book of Psalms, which can also be a guide and a support for your prayer times when you don’t know how to pray.

And here is what the Bible says about this:

« Your words are what sustain me; they are food to my hungry soul. They bring joy to my sorrowing heart and delight me. How proud I am to bear your name, O Lord. » Jeremiah 15 v.16

« Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path. » Psalms 119 v.105

Church and Community

Find a church. This is so important too because it helps you grow in your faith. You will gain a family and wonderful friends to share your walk with, but also, to carry you when hard times come around. God wants us to walk together, because He created us for fellowship, with Him and with others, not loneliness.

And here is what the Bible says about this:

«Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. »

Hebrews 10 vv.23-25

Baptism

I encourage you to get baptized. Yes yes, This is what Jesus tells us to do because it’s a physical and a spiritual declaration that you choose Jesus. It declares with your mouth and body That your old life is done and that now, you are a Child of the Amazing God, saved by Grace in Jesus-Christ, and completely made new.

And here is what the Bible says about it:

« Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.» Acts 2.38

« So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.» Galatians 3 vv. 26-27

«For surely you know that when we were baptized into union with Christ Jesus, we were baptized into union with his death. By our baptism, then, we were buried with him and shared his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from death by the glorious power of the Father, so also, we might live a new life.» Romans 6 vv. 3-4
